FAQ
Questions, answered.
How generation works, whether you need an API key, what you own, where it deploys, and how billing works. If something is missing, we are one message away.
01
Getting started
coursecast turns a single prompt into a full, interactive course. Type a topic and it researches the subject, writes multi-lesson content, builds live widgets and quizzes, adds a mastery dashboard, and packages the whole thing as self-contained files ready to deploy. It is built for real, sellable courses — not four shallow slides.
No. If you buy credits, generation runs on our side — all you need is a topic. Developers using the free open-source CLI can drive it with their own Claude Code, Codex, or Gemini key instead.
There is nothing to set up. Type a topic in your browser, spend one credit, and the full course is generated and hosted for you. Developers who prefer a terminal can run the free open-source CLI instead.
Yes. Because every course is plain, self-contained HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, you can open the files and edit copy, restructure lessons, or restyle widgets by hand. Nothing is locked behind a proprietary editor.
02
Generation & content
Deeper than a demo. A multi-agent pass researches and verifies the material, then produces complete multi-lesson courses with genuinely interactive pieces — what-if calculators, flashcards, reveal diagrams — rather than text followed by a static quiz.
Every lesson can ship live widgets: interactive calculators, flashcard decks, step-through diagrams, and inline quizzes. Progress is tracked with a mastery heatmap and spaced-repetition review — all client-side, so there is no server to run or maintain.
Anywhere that serves static files. One command ships a course to your own host — Vercel, Netlify, or Cloudflare — and hands you a shareable URL. Deploy targets are pluggable, and because the output is self-contained it also works offline.
Yes — from “Kubernetes basics” to “how DNS works” to a niche subject only your audience cares about. The topic is the whole input; coursecast does the research, structure, and interactive build for you.
03
Billing & ownership
The files — forever. Each course is self-contained HTML you can keep, edit, host, and sell on your own terms. There is no lock-in: walk away whenever you like and everything you have already generated keeps working exactly as it did.
You buy course credits once — $3 for one course, $10 for five, or $29 for twenty. One credit generates and hosts one full interactive course. Credits never expire, there is no subscription, and there are no per-token charges.
Creating an account is free and takes no card. To generate a course you buy credits — the smallest pack is $3 for one full hosted course, so you can try it on a single real topic before buying more. Developers can run the open-source CLI for free instead.
There is nothing to cancel — no subscription and no account fee. Unused credits stay on your account indefinitely, and your generated courses stay yours regardless. For refund eligibility on unused credits, see our refunds policy.
That is exactly what it is built for. The output is deep enough to charge for, genuinely interactive, and entirely yours to host and monetize. You keep the files, set your own price, and sell wherever you like — no revenue share, no platform gate.
